Our Palm Beach Gardens Police Department recently placed 2nd in the State in their category at the Law Enforcement Traffic Safety Challenge!
The Challenge recognizes the best overall traffic safety programs in Florida. The areas of concentration include efforts to enforce traffic safety laws and educate the public about distracted and impaired driving, motorcycle safety, occupant protection and child passenger safety, pedestrian and bicycle safety, speed and aggressive driving and other area issues that impact the safety of roadway use. The challenge supports the goal of encouraging increased statewide enforcement of traffic safety laws, to reduce traffic crashes, serious injuries and fatalities.
The Florida Law Enforcement Challenge Program is a grant funded program sponsored by the Florida Department of Transportation and the National Traffic Safety Administration. The goal is to partner with law enforcement agencies to promote increased participation in national traffic enforcement waves and to increase awareness and participation in traffic safety-related efforts.
Participating in the challenge from Palm Beach Gardens were (l to r) Traffic Sergeant JR Evans, DUI Enforcement Officer Melinda Hanton and Motor Officer Gregory Allen.
