The Palm Beach Gardens Police Foundation announced today that they have increased their 2016-2017 scholarship program to $2,500. in recognition of the continuing surge in US higher education costs.
The “Herb and Penny Wender Scholarship Fund” is designed to assist students in their pursuit of continuing education and this year we will award two scholarships at the conclusion of the 2016-2017 school year.
Applications and guidelines are available on the Police Foundation website (pbgpf.org/scholarships) and are being distributed through the School District of Palm Beach County, private schools and other educational institutions. Completed applications must be received by the Police Foundation no later than April 14, 2017. Scholarship recipients will be announced on or about June 1, 2017.
“The Police Foundation is pleased to extend our Scholarship Program into the current school year” said Charles Gusmano, Vice President of the Police Foundation and Chairman of the Scholarship Committee. “Thanks to the Radian Group and Mr. Wender, we are able to increase the award amount this year to $2,500 to recognize the continuing surge in US higher education costs.”
