Honda Classic Tournament Director Andrew George has been named to the Police Foundation Board of Directors to fill the unexpired term of Kenneth R. Kennerly. Kennerly’s term runs through January, 2019.
Andrew holds a Master’s Degree in Sports Management from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
“I am thrilled to be appointed to the Board of Directors of the Police Foundation and to follow in Ken Kennerly’s footsteps” said Mr. George. “I have known many of the members of the Police Foundation for years and I welcome the opportunity work with them in support of the men and women of our Palm Beach Gardens Police Department.”
The Police Foundation raises funds, administers grants, and promotes awareness of public safety issues in the community. It is a catalyst in responding to the underfunded and not-funded needs of the Police Department.
“We are very pleased to have Andrew joining our Board of Directors.” said Tom Murphy, the Foundation’s President and CEO. “Andrew is very well known in the Community and very supportive of our mission of helping to keep Palm Beach Gardens safe. We are sorry to see Ken leaving as he moves on to other endeavors but know that his vision for the future of the Foundation will be carried forward by Andrew.”
Kennerly resigned from the Police Foundation in order to focus his attention on his new venture, The Marathon of the Palm Beaches.
